NIFA’s Center for International Programs Invites You to a Lunch’n’ Learn:
“The Farmer-to-Farmer Program”
Thursday, June 13, 2019 at 12 Noon ET
Room 4103 Waterfront*
Join the Center for International Programs as we share information with NIFA staff and our land-grant partners about opportunities in the USAID-funded Farmer-to-Farmer (F2F) program.
F2F provides technical assistance from U.S. volunteers to farmers, farm groups, agribusinesses and other agriculture sector institutions in developing and transitional countries. The goal of the program is to promote sustainable improvements through expert volunteer assistance in such areas as food security, climate-smart agriculture, animal and plant production, food safety, and youth development. Average length of assignments is two to three weeks and the program covers all international travel, in-country costs, visas, immunizations, health insurance, etc.
Representatives from implementing organizations will give a general overview of F2F, and volunteer recruiters from these same organizations will detail what countries they work in, what type of individuals they’re seeking, what it’s like to serve in the field, how to apply, and more.
*Space can be limited in Room 4103, so come early to get a seat or join us via the zoom link below:
