New Jersey 4-H is hosting its first International camp with youth from Austria, Azerbaijan, Italy, Russia, and the US all participating between August 18-24, 2019! We’re inviting teams of teens from around the country to join us!
Ready for some fast facts?
24,901 miles (40,075 kilometers) = circumference of planet Earth.
12,450.5 miles (20,037.5 kilometers) = the furthest anyone can be away from another person.
450 = the cost in US dollars to be a part of the fun!
195 = number of sovereign states on the planet Earth.
45 = the number of teens and their chaperones registered thus far.
7 = the number of camp days of awesomeness.
5 = the number of countries attending (which combined represent nearly 20% of the world’s land mass).
1 = 4-H International Camp United Program (4-HICUP).
As easy as it is to get lost in all these numbers and the size of the world, 4-H brings the world together through meaningful connections on a personal level, forging global connections and building relations for the future.
4-HICUP is an acronym for 4-H International Camp United Program. This program is designed to bring youth leaders from all over those 24,901 miles together to both build bridges of understanding as well as exchange ideas and cultures. Specific program objectives include
Helping youth participants understand their role as global citizens.
Developing leadership skills among secondary school students from the selected country/countries.
Building personal relationships among the teen program participants.
Conservation and global ecology.
4-HICUP is open to teams of teen 4-H'ers looking to get an international experience without leaving the United States. If you have interested youth teams in your programs who would benefit from 4HICUP, consider reaching out to us!
