NAE4-HA 2020

Call for Proposals

Please consider sharing your expertise as a presenter at the 2020 NAE4-HA Conference, which will be held in beautiful Boise, Idaho, October 19-22, 2020. Proposals are now being accepted for peer –reviewed sessions in the following categories:

 

COMPETENCY BUILDING WORKSHOPS

Competency building seminars are 90 minutes in length, and are designed to enhance the participants’ knowledge and skill in one of the six 4-H PRKC areas. Proposals focus on how participants in the session will gain skill and ability in the identified PRKC area.

 

PROGRAM SEMINARS

Program seminars are 90 minutes in length and present 4-H programs in some detail. The goal is to teach participants about the program and how to replicate it for success. Each program should be clearly connected to advancing the 4-H 2025 Vision strategic plan, and must provide program evaluation information as evidence for the program’s success and impact. Program replicability information must be provided.

 

Research, Innovation, & Program Roundtables

Roundtables are 40-minute oral presentations followed by discussion with attendees. Roundtables begin with a 15 minute presentation, followed by 25 minutes of discussion. Roundtable presenters bring prepared questions to guide the discussion in case discussion is not generated from the audience. There are three types of roundtables:

1.      Research Roundtables: Present a summary of research findings with the conversation focused on implications for 4-H Youth Development practice

2.      Innovative Strategies: Presentations of strategies to advance the 4-H 2025 Vision, PLWG chartered groups and innovative practices related to the PRKC

3.      Program Innovations: Presentations of programs to advance the 4-H 2025 Vision, PLWG chartered groups and innovative practices related to the PRKC

 

Posters

Poster sessions are graphic displays that encourage informal discussions on topics important to 4-H Youth Development work. Posters can report research, share a program or innovative idea, or build a key professional competency. Posters are not allowed to market or sell any product.

 

 

Proposal Preparation Required Information

All proposals, except for posters, are required to align with one or more areas of the 4-H Professional, Research, Knowledge, and Competencies 2017 (PRKC 2017) and/or the National 4-H Strategic Plan: 4-H Youth Development a 2025 Vision. Please review these documents prior to submitting a proposal.

Proposal Timeline

·         December 6 – Proposal submission portal open

·         February 6 – Proposals due by 11:59pm Eastern

·         April 15th – Notices of acceptance/non acceptance sent

·         April 24th – Confirmation of acceptance and agreement to present due from presenters

·         May 15th – A/V requests due

·        June 1 – Conference registration opens
